Former Swedish footballers look for Indian counterparts

Things have changed quite a lot since they were first here. Back in 1976 when Ingela Ringgvigt led the Swedish women’s football team that toured India for the first time and Mona Wahlgreen ruled the midfield, India had a different look altogether. They were the more talented side with “superior skill and speed,” according to one foreign newspaper account, winning seven of the nine matches and losing just once.
